“Thank you so much. We really enjoyed your class!!”

LARISSA C.

My Cairn Terrier was very reactive towards, cars, people, and other dogs on our daily walks. I needed help in keeping him calm. I found Jody from Social Tailwaggers Dog Training & Behavior and her training lessons helped my dog tremendously.

Jody is knowledgeable and will work with you on learning your pets personality and how to best train your pet and YOU! On our first meeting, she brought different toys, treats, and puzzles that helped my pup with training his mind which is one thing many pet owners don’t learn is vital in dog training. She also taught me various commands that have helped my dog not be reactive on our daily walks. I highly recommend Jody and Social Tailwaggers Dog Training!

Jody,
I really can’t say enough how much we got from your training. The skills you have taught us have been wonderful.  And we will continue to work on them. You will be our number one referral to anyone that needs training for their furry friends. Thanks for all your help and patience.

I have a 4 month old Shepherd/Lab mix and was very desperate to get some help. Not only was she very quick to respond but was thoroughly detailed with answering all my questions and concerns about my pup. I had a phone consultation on account of meeting up during “quarantine” isn’t the best thing to do, but it didn’t just end after our session. She gave me multiple resources to use. Very obvious she cares about helping to positively raise a puppy without the use of prong collars, choke collars, etc.. and I will be signing up for her classes very soon.

Jody came to our home for a puppy consultation. She was on time and was more than thorough about how we could make sure our new puppy was well taken care of in his new home. She also gave us tips to work on the relationship between our older dog and new puppy. She took the time to answer all of our questions and even explain to our children how to handle the different situations they were experiencing with our puppy. I felt that I received more than my monies worth and will be signing up for some of the group classes at Social Tailwaggers for my new puppy. I am extremely happy with our experience.

Highly Recommend Her!!

We have a super “special” Maltese and after meeting with Jody once and working with him for about a month…we have made a huge breakthrough with him as well as smaller ones too!! Highly recommend her!!. Working with Jody was a Great Experience

RIC AND LOURDES P.

“We met Jody at the Riverfest Festival in Laurel, Maryland and had a conversation from which we decided to take dog training lessons for our female Chihuahua mix dog, “Bella”.

We learned to walk our dog on a leash, control her behavior in different situations and to give her different commands so she could focus and calm down.

Jody was great and knew how to deal with our dog but also she was very good communicating with us and explaining the pros and cons of training a high energy dog, like ours.

Now, we are left with the information and have been practicing what she taught us.  Working with Jody was a great experience.  She was very pleasant and patient with us, and our kids, Martin and Melissa, said they they had a lot of fun.  Based on this, I can tell you, that we highly recommend her.”

Thanks,

Ric, Lourdes, Martin, Melissa, and Bella P.

A Wonderful Trainer

“Jody was (and still is) a tremendous help!  She came prepared with lots of great ideas and information, all of which were extremely helpful.  I especially appreciated her advice on making mealtime a fun and educational experience.  He has really taken to the games/toys to get his food, rather than gulping it down in 5 seconds.  With her guidance, we have registered our puppy for his first kindergarten class.  he is off to a great start!

We are taking advantage of Jody’s new service, in-home puppy sitting.  We had hoped to take a vacation this summer, but with a new puppy it did not seem possible.  Jody has a great service in which she will stay with your little one, in your home, and continue to work with them  No need for boarding!

I am happy to recommend Jody to anyone looking for a wonderful trainer, who obviously loves puppies.  I have already given her information to two friends with new puppies.”

Extremely Generous With Time

“I highly recommend Jody of Social Tailwaggers for those looking to train or modify behavior of “man’s best friend”.  Jody was extremely generous with time, very patient, and taught me various ways to get my 4 month old puppy off to the right start!”

We’re Already Seeing Great Results!

“Jody came by to coach us through some issues we’ve been having with our puppy: nipping, barking, jumping, and leash pulling.  Jody spent 1.5 hours teaching us techniques to work with our puppy, and managing our expectations so that we know what’s normal puppy behavior.

Jody was very patient, knowledgable, and helpful as we work to train our puppy to be the best dog she can be!  All of her techniques are positive, and reinforced with treats.  No awful choke collars, shock collars, or leash jerking necessary.”

Knowledgable and Patient

“Jody was wonderfully knowledgable and patient.  She brought samples of the items she discussed and left us with suggestions and homework.  Jody worked well with the puppy and the people.  I would recommend her highly!!”

Very Professional, Knowledgeable, Accommodating

“Jody was very patient and accommodating and a fountain of wisdom.  She gave the puppies and I “homework”, reviewed all aspects of puppy care and issues we were having and gave specific useful guidance to resolve them.  She followed up with an email with links to articles on appropriate ages for running distances with dogs.  Definitely recommend her.”

Jody is an Extremely Dedicated Student

I have known Jody Broughton since she started studying to be a professional dog trainer. Jody is an extremely dedicated student and has gotten some really amazing experience working with dogs of all types. Her strongest area of interest is teaching and socializing puppies and she teaches wonderful puppy classes! Jody has volunteered with Love on a Leash Dog Rescue (LLDR) for over a year. She has graciously donated her time to help us with numerous puppies and dogs. She most often will assess dogs that are having behavior issues in their foster homes or with their newly adopted families. She is very resourceful and has given advice and training that has helped both the people and the dogs. Jody employs only positive training techniques. We at LLDR are grateful to have her as a part of our “team”! If I can provide any further information about Jody and her skills as a trainer, please feel free to contact me on 301-775-7661.

Jody Takes An Overall Approach

Jody is a great dog trainer who helped me not only develop better command of my 1 1/2 year old Boxer but she also took the time to educate me on various behaviors and development of my dog. She gave me an overview of enrichment toys (e.g slo bowl, different kong toys that stimulate thinking) that help mentally stimulate my dog which helped manage some of that Boxer high energy.

Each week Jody provided an overview of what developmental areas she worked on with our dog and she made adjustments based on my feedback regarding how our dog was progressing. Jody was also helpful in assessing the training crate I was using and the leash for walking. She even helped me put together a new crate that was much more size appropriate for our dog. Jody takes an overall approach that encompasses training, development and creating a healthy environment for your doggie family member.

Overall I feel much more educated on training my boxer and ensuring she knows who the leader of the pack is in our household.

ANGELA AND BELLA

Jody Helped Me Understand How To Train My Pup!

Jody has been working with my 11 mo. old pup Bella (and of course, with ME!) for almost three months now! She came highly recommended by my dog walker, who agreed that Bella needed some ‘fine-tuning’, as it related to puppy behavior. Bella is a rescue and although I know her history, certain behaviors began to emerge, making it difficult for me to understand what was best for her as a puppy and most importantly, as a dog. Jody was eager to begin working with us immediately and uses a ‘positive reinforcement’ approach (as opposed to ‘corrective behavior’).

I am still amazed at how much better Jody seems to know my dog than I do! She takes the time to assess OUR behavior with each other (as well as in external situations) and quickly developed a training plan tailored to our needs. She taught me first how to better understand and interpret my puppy’s signals and I soon realized that there were quite a few things I was doing incorrectly! That is the biggest bonus for me – Jody helped me understand how to train my pup! Not only that, she is always fast to respond to any questions I have and has even ‘talked me off the ledge’ a few times when Bella was just too much! She is patient, has an optimistic view of any scenario and Bella obeys her better than she does me!

We are still working together and based on what Jody has taught us, Bella is on her way to being ‘well behaved’ and I can finally sleep until 7 in the morning …. Hooray! J

I recommend Jody highly, as she is a great person and a great animal behaviorist, who provides ‘full service’ advice – from the proper crate, to the right training equipment for your needs, to the right food and if necessary, to other professionals who understand [specific] dog behavior(s).

Bella and I thank you, Jody!
